Charity and Mission
2011 - Yushu Medical Mission
On April 14, 2010, a registered magnitude of 6.9 earthquake struck Yushu, Qinghai, China. It took 2,698 lives, injured 12,135 of, and 270 missing.
From September 3rd to 18th 2011, Dr. Chong-hao Zhao, together with other 18 medical professionals and volunteers in the name of “International Medical Alliance” went to the epicenter to provide free clinic and medicine to the Tibetans in Yushu Country Hospital. The services included general surgery, cardiology, anesthesiology, pain management and neurology, as well as general medicine. The mission was very successful and appreciated.

2012 - Zhi Za Temple Charity Mission
On May 9 to 11, 2012, Dr. Chong-hao Zhao, together with his friend Mr. Daniel Chen had a 3 days’ charity mission trip to Zhi Za Temple at Hualong County, Qinghai, China. The trip to Zhi Za Temple was to serve for a few charity purposes:
1. to investigate and provide support to the ongoing reconstruction of the Great Chanting Hall
2. to establish a long-term plan to help out the orphans raised in the temple, and the sick Monks
3. to provide free treatment to the monks who suffer from chronic pain.
Chong-hao Zhao, MD. PhD Educational Fund
This educational fund was set up to help children in China go to school. As a first step, it pays the tuition and book fee for those children who are raised in the indigent families in Guangdong Province. With the vigorous growth of CHPCI, we will gradually extend the support to other areas in China.
2008 - Charity
In June 2008, Chong-hao Zhao MD, PhD Educational Fund donated 10,000 RMB to support the students in Ri-Xin (日新小学) Primary School at Meizhou City in Guangdong Province.
2007 - Charity
In January 2007, Chong-hao Zhao MD, PhD Educational Fund supported hundreds of students in Ri-Xin (日新小学) Primary School at Meizhou City in Guangdong Province, with the followings:
1. Books and stationary for one hundred students.
2. School uniforms for fifty students.
3. Living support for fifty students.

Sui-Fang Su Educational Assistantship
Sui-Fang Su Educational Assistanship was the first assistantship set up in the summer 2003, under the Chong-hao Zhao, MD, PhD Educational Fund. Ms. Sui-Fang Su, grandmother of Dr. Zhao, is a retired teacher from He-Xiang-Ning Memorial Primary School in Guangzhou, China. This school is established nearly a half century ago to honor Ms. He-Xiang-Ning, a famous celebrity who had devoted her whole life to the revolution and improvement of China.Ms. Su served as a teacher in this school for more than 40 years and her significant contribution has been greatly appreciated.A lot of her students now serve as the local governors and teachers. The Sui-Fang Su Educational Assistantship was established to honor Ms. Su's phenomenal contribution to the education of the nation’s youth.During the years 2003-2005, near 20 students have received funds from this assistantship to pay their tuition and book fees.
